Solving Logistics Hurdles: 2m Aspirating Pipes

One of the primary challenges faced by the fire trade installers of aspirating systems, is the transportation of 3 metre aspirating pipes from the workshop to site. The sheer length of these pipes poses logistical issues, making it cumbersome for technicians and couriers alike. This not only increases the risk of damage during transit, but also adds unnecessary complexity to the deployment process.

Overcoming Challenges with 2.4 and 2 metre lengths;  To address these challenges, Aspirating Systems Limited have introduced a variation towards manufacturing smaller aspirating pipe lengths, which has proven to be a viable solution for many of our customers. These shorter lengths offer several advantages, starting with enhanced convenience during transportation. Technicians can easily handle and transport these shorter and lighter lengths with both commercial and passenger vehicles alike, minimising the risk of damage and streamlining the deployment process.

Additionally, the use of 2.4 and 2 metre lengths allows for more flexibility in adapting the air sampling system to different environments. Tight spaces and varying site conditions are better navigated with shorter pipes lengths, with the added potential of reducing wasted off-cuts.

Enhancing Courier Collaboration for Safe Pipe Transport

Another aspect of utilising longer lengths of air sampling pipe, is the reluctance of couriers to handle bundles of 3 metre length, which can weight up to 8.5kg’s each. Transporting lengthy pipes is not only inconvenient but can also incur additional costs for courier services. To overcome this hurdle, we only work with a select collective of trained courier companies and utilise efficient packaging solutions that protect the pipes during transit while making it more convenient for couriers to handle.

Moreover, educating couriers about the importance of the equipment they are transporting and its role in ensuring safety and environmental compliance can foster a sense of responsibility. Collaborative efforts between our manufacturing team and courier services can be challenging, however, with the right approach, this can lead to an improved transportation process, ensuring that aspirating pipes reach their destination intact and ready for use.

Innovating Aspirating Smoke Detection Systems

With the ever-evolving landscape of the aspirating smoke detection market the transition from traditional 3 metre lengths of aspirating pipes to smaller lengths, addresses the challenges associated with transportation and deployment. By doing so, professionals in the field can enhance and streamline the installation process.

Adding to the flexibility of variations of size, we can offer also bespoke labelling/printing of pipe to meet the branding requirements of our customers (subject to minimum quantities).

Our current manufactured Pipe lengths are available from 5m, 3m, 2.5m, 2.4m and 2m, in Red, White, Grey, Light Grey. A new range of Black aspirating and fittings will be available soon.
